What you'll accomplish

After completing this guide, you'll know how to use Claude to generate fully realized training scenarios (specific characters, realistic workplace situations, emotional context, and multi-branch decision trees) dramatically faster than writing them from scratch.

What you'll need

  • Free Claude account at claude.ai (works for this use case)
  • Claude Pro ($20/mo) recommended for longer, more complex scenarios
  • Clear idea of the skill being practiced and the common mistakes you want to address
  • Time needed: 20–30 minutes per scenario set
  • Cost: Free tier sufficient for most scenario writing

Generate Rich Training Scenario Scripts with Claude

Step 1: Define the scenario parameters before prompting

Don't start writing your Claude prompt until you've answered these questions. Better inputs = dramatically better scenarios.

Write down:

  1. What skill is being practiced? (e.g., de-escalating an upset customer, delivering critical feedback, asking for help before missing a deadline)
  2. Who is the learner? (e.g., new customer service rep, first-year manager, healthcare admin)
  3. What is the most common wrong choice? (The mistake most people make. This becomes your best "plausible wrong answer".)
  4. What is the emotionally hard part? (Conflict, awkward silence, pressure to give in: the moment where behavior matters most.)
